    Another comes after and puts a slit in each hole. Then the holes are quenched. When all the potatoes are planted there is not a thing more to be done for about a fortnight. Then manure is spread on the ridges. The furrows are ploughed and the potatoes laboured. When the stalks are about a foot high the furrows are ploughed again and mould is put on the ridges.
