    appointment to meet in a house in town on the next fair or market day.
    When both parties meet in town the boy's parents talk about the boy's good qualities and the girl's parent's talk about the girl's good qualities. Then they discuss the girl's dowry and about the boy's farm and stock. If there are any old people in the house a room in the house is given to them and some money in case of a difference later.
    Then the bride names a day on which the wedding will take place. On the marriage day it is a custom for the bride to wear -
