  1. There is a fort in Gavigan's land. It is near Treenaglenagh school. It is not very large. There are about ten rooms in it. It is about twenty feet in diameter. There are various beliefs concerning it. The most common belief is that it was built for protection against the De Dannans by the Firbolgs. More say that it was build in the penal days to say mass in them, There are many more forts in the neighbourhood but the one mentioned is the largest of them.
