  1. The strongest man in the village was James Gallagher, Bracklagh, Kiltimagh. He could lift more than twenty four stone. He could do that thirty years ago.
    The best fighter in the village was Mick Conway Adrugal. One night he was coming from visiting a mule hit with a kick and mick said leave down the stones and fight fair. This happened about sixty years.
    The best in the village for throwing the sledge was Pat Murtagh. He could throw a sledge of two and a quarter st. weight one hundred and five yards.
