    On the land of Paddy McGlenchy, of Rathneeny Bar. Laghey, there is a fort which is supposed to be haunted by the fairies.

    This story was told by Tom Deveney Finmore, Laghey, County Donegal.
    On the land of Paddy Mc Glenchy of Rathneeny Bar, Laghey, there is a fort which is supposed to be haunted by the fairies.
    One night Paddy Mc Glenchy himself was passing this fort and he was lifted on horseback and was taken that night all over Ireland by the fairies. He said they stopped at every town they came to and told him the name of the town.
    In the morning he was left sitting accross [sic] a slick that was on a gap at the foot of his own garden.
