    in olden times there was a man named Kelly, in Tullyhullion in a house, which ruins are still to be seen next door to me:
    Now, it happened that Kelly's wife gave birth to a child. At that time it was the custom to have something belonging to the husband in the bed to keep away the fairies, because they would steal the woman and take her appearance and lie in the bed as if dead.
