    The night been bright with clear moonlight.
    As the thirteenth was the date.
    While stambling round the corners
    Thad neither friend or sweetheart nor yet the one at all.
    The only friend that I had in my pocket was Mr Alcohol.

    They were there in every barntree.
    And girls of high renoun.
    I have heard of their rejudement I have heard it said by all.
    The one that came for Sally-brooke was the flower of the ball.
    For singing or for dancing she far exceeded them all.
    She broke the heart of all the boys at Ballyhooley ball.
