  1. Once there lived an old man in Co. Donegal who was very cruel, and who took a great delight in torturing animals. One cold winters day when the snow was falling a poor little robin entered his kitchen in search of food.He caught the bird and plucked the feathers of it, and put it out in the snow. That night the old man went to bed as usual but when he awoke in the morning every hair of his head was lying on the pillow.
