    told it by his father. There was once a poor man whose name was Barney Doherty. He stopped in Mark Brown's house. He was a very poor man. He sold pins and needles. That is how he made a living. He was the only man in his time who was begging around here. He was a good old man. He lived till he was 90 years of age. He took sick and in 3 days he died. He begged both far and near. When he went to Clonmany he stayed there for two or three days but he would not stay any longer. He was a native of that place. He did not beg at night. He was a kind old man and would not touch you along the road
