    Mr. O'Rourke was our local landlord. He came from Ballinlough. He made the people pay very heavy rents as he was a very bad and cruel man.
    He was very rich both in money, land and stock. He had a band of soldiers and a team of horses. He had so much money that he had to turn it with a shovel. He was a protestant of course and when the priests were building the Catholic church outside his
