  1. The domestic animals on the farm are two donkeys, a horse, two cows, four sheep, + two calves. The names of the cows are Polly and Bawny. When driving the cows we say Hup Hup and when driving the calves we say Hé up Hé up.
    The cowhouse is built of stones, and mortar, with a thatched roof on it. It is called a byre. The cows are tied around the neck with a chain to stakes. Cows are usually tied by the neck. The tyings are chains. The Chains are not home made, they are bought in the shops. No branch or emblem is hung in the cowhouse at any time to bring luck to the stock. There is one custom connected with milking. If you let any of the milk go into the river after milking your cows will go dry.
    The horse's name is Billy. When calling he horse we say pough pough. The horse's house is built of stones, cement, and mortar. It is called a
