  1. I play skipping, marbles, tennis, and football. In Spring I amuse myself at gardening. In Summer I go bathing, and picking strawberries. In Autumn I go picking blackberries. In winter I make bird traps and bird cages out of wood called boor tree.
The local games that children play are blind-man's-buff, orange and lemons, cat and dog, playing with dolls, and playing shop. They amuse themselves while sitting round the fire at night by telling stories, giving out riddles, by hiding the thimble, and by drawing, while sitting out of doors they amuse themselves by making daisy-chains, making dresses for dolls, and painting pictures.
The games the boys play are handball, football, and fishing, the girls play skipping, play with dolls, playing shop, and picking flowers.
