    Réamonn an Cairéaraidhe
Réamonn an Cairéaraidhe lived about ninety years ago. He lived in Two-mile-ditch in this parish. The ruins of his house are to be seen opposite Fallon's now. It is situated in a field called Garrdha Réamonn.
He was eighty or ninety when he died. He was a very strong man. Raymond Jennings was his real name. He was called Réamonn an Cairéaraidhe because he used to work as a labourer to other farmers in this and drew carts for them. It was he who rolled the pillar stones to the Franciscan Abbey in Galway with a crowbar. These stones were found in Larry Cooley's quarry beside the Merview road in this parish.
