  1. I don't believe in ghosts or fairies or nonsense of that kind. Yes, I cut the "lone bush" that was in the way when we were making up the new road through Mullaghgarve. No, I was none the worse for doing it. Yes, I heard that Pee Dolan cut one of these bushes, and that he took ill in a couple of days afterwards and never got out of that sickness till death swept him.
