    There are no eels in Feengh Lake although they are to be got in the river flowing through it...

    There are no eels in Feengh Lake" although they are to be got in the river flowing through it and in the lakes above and below it on the river.
    The Reason is:
    A local fisherman was bringing home a sack of eels and a priest belonging to St Kellán's (Cillian) abbey in Feenagh met him and asked him for some of the catch. The fisherman refused to give him any and the Priest told him there would never be another eel caught in the lake. Nor was there. In my uncle's young days / time a fisherman
