    The names of writers grand,
Who are scattered o'er the world wide
On many a far off stand.
The gifted scribes of this dear Isle,
    Who songlets sweet do write,
Will soon be known from Pole to Pole
    When all the Bards unite.

    Will lend a helping hand
    To free their down-trodden country,
    Our dear and hapless land
