  1. Most of the roads around this part of Leitrim were built by the O'Donnells of Dromore and Drumlay. All the roads were constructed by the O'Donnell's with the exception of Eager's broad road. Not only did the O'Donnell's make roads about here but they constructed roads up the sides of the Ballinamore mountains. Often themselves and their men suddenly hungry on these wild mountains because they had walked on the "stray sod", which causes one to get weak and hungry. Then they would go to the nearest mountain for a drink or
