    planted in this district are:- Aran Banner, Epicures, Kerr Pinks, Bluemers, Queens, Aran Victors and Champions. Aran Banners grow plentifully, but Epicures are the best table potato.
    In former times people used potatoes for making starch. They grated the raw potatoes, squeezed them through a canvas cloth and the liquid obtained was used for making starch.
