  1. Once there lived in Maulykevane a man who had one son. He and his son went to the fair to buy a cow. It was one o'clock at night, when they left the house. They were a good deal of the road when it was nearly day, all at once the road darkened and they could not pass the darkness.
They went on their knees and crawled through it and went to the fair and bought a cow. They got drunk and it was night when they left the town and the cow could not pass the darkness, and they had to go into a house and stay there that night. When they went home the next day the man's wife was dead.
