    VI
Oh Father Blake don't you susspake (?)
Or do not disupbraid (?) me
For the friar sees you kept my fees
And a penny you never paid me.
    VII
With an angry feeling in my breast
I will carry on my journey
For no look or peace you did afford
    To the poor attorney.
    VIII
Since your friendship I have lost
It may be for the better
I will have you served with a bill of cost
Six and eight pence for each letter.
    IX
Since you accuse me in the wrong
    And set my brain acrazing
That another rat before its long
May set this old concern blazing.
    NOTE
Piercey Dolphin who is supposed to have written the poem was a native of Turoe House. He was well educated and became an attorney. He was very fond of drink and he almost became insane from it. His uncle, Fr Blake was in Esker College, which was at that time only a small building. Piercey was allowed to live in the college. One night Piercey's room went on fire and the friars turned him out. Shortly after P. composed this poem.
