  1. A cure for the whooping cough is to go to a home where two of the same name would be married (for instance Murphy would be the woman's name before she got married and she'd marry a man named Murphy) and ask for a piece of bread.
    You should be sure that the woman of the house made the bread. And if you had to wait while she'd be baking it you should not say a word while she'd be doing it.
    Take that home then and give a bit of it to the child 'twould cure the whooping cough.
