    The was an ould thatched Chapel about a hundred yards below where the present chapel stands in Carroweigh, near Gorman's house.
    There was a man died here the other day and he was the first man to be baptized in the present chapel. His name was Benny Cavanagh.

    In years gone by there were hardy fellows in Taghmon. It was a great practice in them times boxing.
