- When the person dies the body is left for about half an hour, and then it is washed. The water with which the corpse is washed is thrown out first the same as any other water.
Then the habit is put on the corpse. In a good many cases the corpse is put in the coffin imediately, with the lid oft and waked that way. In other cases it is waked on a bed.
