She would know no more than a girl of six or seven years of age. I will tell you what I will do now I will go down to your house some night and have a talk with the girl herself, and find out how she stands as regards her faith and all." The father listened away very attentively to the priest and said that he was only doing his best for the girl and said also that he would only be delighted if the priest came down. So they parted at that and the priest came along to the girls house a few nights after that and the people of the house did their best to make him comfortable.
