Some people think that the sea gulls come to land for shelter from the storm but that is not so. The sea-gull enjoys the heaviest storm. They come to the land, because they are always sure to get food, as worms are driven up from under the ground by severe floods. When the storm comes the fish go down lower so that the sea-gulls have to come to the land in search of food.When Our Lord was dying on the Cross there came a robin to comfort Him by picking the nails our of His feet, and while doing so a drop of blood fell on its breast, and that is how the robin got the red breast.
