  1. Once upon a time in a very grand country there lived a very rich man who had three daughters. The youngest of these was a beautiful girl. Her other two sisters were not so good looking, so they were jealous of her. They kept her in the kitchen doing all the rough work, cooking, minding the fire, and attending the household. They never called her anything but Cinderella and they never allowed her out to any amusements, or any gatherings, or to any parties. She wore very poor clothes, and always wore clogs, while they were dressed in the most expensive clothes. They attended all gatherings, but one time there was a prince in the
