    the horse. He goes back to the anvil and finishes the shoe. He cools it in a trough of water, and drives it on the horse. Then he comes along with the rasp, and takes the top off the nails, and that finishes the shoe.
    The cart wheels are shod outside at the upper part of the forge.
    Long ago the smiths used to go around with a horse and cart, and to get twelve sheaves of corn from every farmer, who was a customer of his.
    All the blacksmiths were looked upon as very strong men.
