    courageous to meet a ghost.
    Long ago when the Protestants ruled Ireland they used to buy men to work, and if they did not like them they would kill them, and bury them in the garden. Johnny Hodge got a place at Bracley and there was a great big house on it, and a ghost in it. He wanted people to live in the house but no body would stay in it. Many people lived in it, but when it came to eleven o'clock they went home. Pat Neice decided to stay in the house. He went to bed and took a bottle of holy water with him. About twelve o'clock at night there came a weight on him, as he thought about a ton weight. It nearly put him through the bed. He looked and saw a big black dog with blazing eyes looking in at him.
