    to make purchases. Nowadays, shops are so common throughout the country that the people have little need to go to town except when they have something to sell. Buying and selling were not carried on after Mass.
    Money was not always given in return for goods. Long ago the people used to exchange one kind of goods for another kind of goods. This work is carried on in some places still. Sometimes if a person had no money he gave labour instead of money for the goods.
