    Second Patrick was named Rev. Arthur Augustine McMahon. He was in Flanders. He founded many boursis (in 1710) for the education of young priests. Preference had to be given to McMahon, Maguires, O'Reilly and O'Neills. Another son of the Patrick's named Collough McMahon confromed in Penal Days and were allowed portion of the family estate. The last remnant of which were sold by his grandson Richard McMahon.
    COn McMahon a notable member of this family was wounded at the Batle of the Boyne. He was afterward fighting with Sarsfield against the Williamites. Con McMahon was married to a niece of Sarsfield.
    The present castle was built on the side of the old one. (in 1846). It was built by VIscount Oremorne, 1st Earle of Darlrey. There is a
