    a small window about 6"x8" inset. This little window never had glass in it. The wall was called a "jamb wall." The purpose of this wall was to prevent the wind coming too strongly from the door. The wall was between the door and the fire place. There was usually a long wooden stool set along the jamb.
    Horse-collars and harness were hung on the wall between the jamb, and the fire place.
    The chimneys were about five feet in width and they were two feet out from the wall.
