Four sheep belonging to Michael McMahon were sleeping behind a hedge. When the owner went out next morning to see them he found them smothered under snow. The snow melted a week afterwards and the roads were not dry for a fortnight.
- Near where my Granny was born, there was a hill called "Jim's Hill", as the man who owned it was called Jim Rooney.
The people of the district had a belief that there was a treasure hidden in the hill. One morning old Jim Rooney got up and he was surprised to find that every piece of the hill had been dug up. He walked all round it, but could not see a blade of green grass.
