  1. There is an old rath in John Maddock's field Listerlin. It is said to be built by the Danes. It is made of clay and it is supposed to be hollow inside where gold is said to be hidden. It is circular in shape and about thirty feet high. Once a man was cutting a bough off one of the trees and the shoe was pulled off him and he could not rest nor sleep untill he planted a tree in it plate The name of the rath is the Mote.
