- Local Customs.
On St. Stephen's Day a number of boys and girls dress up in strange attire and about through the town and country playing music and dancing at every door.If they are treated well by the people of the house they give a bit of the branch that they carry to the people of the house as a sign of good luck. The people of the house usually give some money to them. Sometimes they get a good deal of money by going around like this.
