  1. There was an old woman living long ago in the Northern Parish. It was said that she used be going about with the fairies, and that she had knowledge. It is said that she used come into Dursey with them - without anybody ferrying her in or out - and that she used be with the fairies west at Maol Bheag near the Dursey Head. This place is supposed to be very airy - that the fairies haunt it - especially at a spot called Brághaid na Maoile.
    She used to be in the habit of calling into Peats Mór's grandmother in Cathair Caim, (Peats Mór is an old man still living in Tig Lice Finne - the western village of Dursey Island) after doing her nightly rounds. This old woman used always have something near the fire for her, so that she would take it on her way home.
    This time in Dursey there was no ferry made for nine days - bad weather. Sometime during these nine days a horse belonging to Seana Thadg na Cásca of Tigh Lice Finne was clifted west of Cuas
