There are several old head stones in both grave-yards but there are no crosses on them, because the English at that time would not permit any crosses. There is a disused grave-yard in Coolroemore and also one in Killavoy. These were used in the famine times. Some of the people are buried in their own parish grave yard.
None of the grave-yards are round.
People do not remember burials having taken place in the disused grave-yards.
