In days gone by marriage customs were more common than nowadays.

    (continued from previous page)
The most common day to get married in this district is Wednesday.
Matchmaking is common especially in the country when the farmers give their daughters fortunes, and sometimes they are married on account of their money.
Another common custom for the bride is to borrow some article of clothing from the first or second cousin. This is supposed to bring luck.
The morning of the wedding the bride must wear blue. It is said "Married in blue your love will be true"
Married in green ashamed to be seen.
Married in grey to live far away
Married in red your love will be dead
