    near as good as tobacco you buy, but I think the reason for that is. that it is not dryed enough before it is made, and more say that the dont know the right mixtures.
    There are two or three different kind of pipes, a chalk pipe, a timber pipe, and a French chalk pipe. People say that the French chalk pipe is the best one, and the softest one for the teeth. The timber pipes were often made at home by the people, these pipes were usually made from peg-wood, or from hard elder.
