  1. About the year 1823 there lived in Shyan a very strong tribe called the O'Gradys. One evening the leader was coming from Kilrush when the Darcys and the Behans of Cooraclare attacked him and put him to flight. Behan was a feather-manager and one day O'Grady caught him and took the bag of feathers off him and beat it against a rock until there were showers of feathers falling through the country.
    About the year 1880 there lived two tribes called the Hennessys and Reillys. They often fought against each other. One day they fought in Kilmihil and Hennessy cut the
