    Government, and the pupils used to give them some money every week. The language that was taught in those schools was Irish. The teachers were good. There was one of the hedge schools in the townland of Clonreddan. The teacher's name was Mr. O Regan. He used to teach in his own house, and a good many pupils went to him.
