  1. Long ago there lived in Shyan a very big and strong man named Tom Melican One night after eating his supper he went to a neighbour's house where he met two men who bet with him that he would not eat twelve loaves of bread. Tom ate the bread dry.
    About fifty years ago there lived in Shyan a man named John Hasset. One evening in the month of June he set off for the races of Ballycoree, he arrived there early on the following morning. When the races were over, he started for home again. He arrived home before sunset. This
