    good many poor people went into the "poor-houses rather than die on the roadside. Some more went to America and made a living there. At the same time there came a great disease on the people called the "Collera" and a good many people died of it. Sometimes the whole family died of it. When one died the others were not able to bury the body and any of the neighbours would not come to bury the person what fear they would take the disease. The Government paid men to bury the dead.
