- Long ago the people had many Cures for every disease. One of these cures for chin-cough was to drink the milk the ferret left after him or to drink ass's milk, or the breadth of the seventh son, or the breadth of a son that never saw his father, it is said that he had power to cure chin cough. The cure they had for a tooth-ache was to leave pepper up to the tooth that was painful. The cures they had for warts were if they got water in a stone(continues on next page)
