Signs that fine weather is approaching - When crows are seen perched on a wall.
When the swallows fly high.
When the the thrush or robin sings on the highest branch of a tree.
When the sky is red it is a sign of fine weather.
When the smoke goes up straight from a chimney.
When the curlews fly northwards.
When the rattling of trains is heard from the east.
When houses which are near the water cast their shadow on it, it's a sign of rain.
When farmyard fowl flap their wings and fly for short distances its a sign that a storm is at hand.
When dust rises from a road on a calm day its a sign of rain.
When midges are out in great numbers after sunset its a sign of rain.
When the wind is heard whistling through the keyhole of a door its a sign of rain.
When goats climb rocky places its a sign of fine weather and when they descend into the valleys its a sign of rain.
When hens root hay its a sign of rain.
