    not quite so bad, and one in particular had anything but a warm spot in her heart for the "Caillach." It is no wonder then that when a neighbouring farmer consulted this other hag how he should catch the Caillach at his cows she was glad. Now he had an off farm on which was dilapidated shelter of the herd, and containing the remnants of what once was his bed. The farmer was to drive his cows there and put some sheep among them. Now hares love to scamper among sheep. Things were going well for the Caillach, but the farmer was losing even more butter, so he went in disgust and anger to his hag advicer again. She consoled him and ordered him to go that very evening to the field taking a pair of greyhounds in addition to his sheep dog, for the stage was now set, and when he saw a hare among the herd, he was to loose the dogs.
