   every meal. Butter-milk was used mostly at the dinner. In olden times the people ate roast fowl and ham on Christmas Day.
   It is about one hundred and fifty years ago since tea was first in use. Noggins were used before cups became common.

   Oaten bread was the only bread eaten in former years. As a result the old people had very good teeth. It was made by getting some water and oaten meal and when mixed it was put on a griddle in squares and baked. The squares were kept turned for about three quarters of an hour. Then they were fully cooked. Fish and vegetables were eaten oftener long ago than
