  1. Long ago when people went to school they had reading, writing and sums all the time. Men and women about thirty or forty went to those schools.
    There was a man in Glenoughill who had a school in an old house, he was called Jarva, the people used to say that he was always chewing his chud. Te place he had his school was called Burns' Gate.
