    Neville Street : It is call after St Evin who lived there long ago.
    Cock-pit-Lane . It is called Cock-pit-Lane because long ago there used be cock-fights there.
    Rope Walks : People call it the Rope Walks because long ago, men used make ropes.
    Fair Gate : It is called the Fair Gate because long, long ago, the women of the town built it.
    Ling Vore . A place on the river down near Camblin. It is called Ling Vore by the men who fish in the place.
    Brewery Hole : A place on the river opposite the Brewery so called by the fishermen who fish there in that part of the River Barrow.
    Poll-na Fúca : A place on the river beside where Mr. Hearne's mill stream flows into the river. It is called Poll na Fúca by the fishermen.
    Tow-is-teen, Ling Veg, Mal-o-zeen, Na Carragawns, Poll-fall, Na Scadáns, are place names used by local fishermen for certain places on River Barrow about New Ross.
    Cool-na-store is another name.
