    Local Ruins
    There is one ruined castle in this district. It was built by King O'Toole. It is built about ten hundred years. It is built in townland of Knockrath and the parish of Rathdrum.
    It was attacked by the Normans and was destroyed and the couple of stone walls remain. It was attacked by the Normans in the night and was burned. It is said that when the castle was attacked the King gave a pot of gold to the servant to throw into the lake for a place of safety and jumped in
