Bright glimpses of mountain and dingle and dell
As if they were meant for the Angels to dwell.
But the brightest the fairest for angel or man,
Are Erin's green hills and the green fields of Glan.

Dear Glan is it long since I gazed with delight,
On thy green sunny fields and thy streams sparkling bright.
But ne'er did my heart beat so happy and free,
As when with devotion I gazed upon thee.

But now I'm away in a far foreign clime,
Away in a land where time is not mine,
Alone and unfriended an exile I stray
Yet (Though) my heart is in Erin's green isle far away.

Though Columbia's mountains are stately and grand
They are not half so dear as my own Motherland,
They want the green verdancy and blue skies that span-
The heights which encircle the green fields of Glan.

Carraig na Mada and Cuilcagh how stately they rise,
